I Need a Drink

Mouth wide-open Yaleska vocalizes,”Aaaaaaaah, Aaaaaaaah”. With this simple utterance she tells us “I need a drink of water.”

“Aaaaaaaah. Aaaaaaaah.”

This has always been the way she communicates her desire to drink water. Solely water.

We know it’s not a call for milk, juice, or any other beverage. She simply only desires to drink water.

“Aaaaaaaah. Aaaaaaaah”.

At the sound of this expression we immediately and knowingly seek to quench her thirst. Why wouldn’t we? We care about her every need.

“Aaaaaaaah. Aaaaaaaah.”

God also knows when life has us feeling dry. Parched. Needing to be quenched.

Our souls cry out to Him.

Our utterances are vocalized differently than Yaleska’s but they also express a true longing to be satisfied.

I quickly get up and give a drink of water to my daughter. God is even more attentive to our needs.

He sees our desire for a reprieve in any situation that we may be facing or enduring. He hears the sighs that reveal dryness.

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Psalm 42:2

As a loving Father, He arises and fills those areas in our lives that need renewal, replenishing, and refilling with His love and peace.

Let’s express our longings and desires to Him. He has an abundance of living water.

I need a drink. I know you do too!

John 14:4 But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
